Dave Hull

Birthday
I was around before mammals so I was hatched January 21st. That makes me an Aquarius. Mysterious, deep. Skitzo.

Hometown
I’m originally from Idaho. Transplanted to California in 1989. Now a proud resident of the "correct" Left Coast.

Family?
Yes. Wifey. And 3 kids "all growed up". And "Hoss" my weiner dog.

Favorite thing about KJWL
The Music. It’s the best on the planet. Oh, and the building we have to work in and the gang of idiots that I get to hang out with every day.

Favorite song
You Can’t Always Get What You Want – Rolling Stones. It’s my motto. (But sometimes you get what you need.)

Favorite TV show
Bones, House, 24, most stuff on Discovery, History, Animal Planet. And re-runs of Alf and of course, Dinosaurs. Earl Sinclair and family remind me ofmy own! And I don’t mind American Idol.

Favorite Artists?
Eagles, Beatles. I think Kelly Clarkson has a remarkable vocal gift. But I appreciate and like most great talent.

First Album?
I honestly can't remember. Probably a Bill Cosby album. Hey, hey hey, Fat Albert!

Movies?
I'm a sci-fi guy. I’ve watched all 6 Star Wars a million times. I thought Avatar was amazing. But I saw it in the IMax 3-D and it made me dizzy. But it was a good dizzy. Kind of like the Simpsons ride at Universal.

Favorite thing about Fresno?
I like hot so Fresno is right up my alley. Strawberry stands. I like the way the city is growing up but I wish it "they" would allow it to grow faster. I like that we have most everything you need here. And that were so close to the coast, LA and San Francisco. It’s a great place to live.

Hobbies?
Radio. And I'm starting to get into the Sharks because my boys make me watch them play all the time.

Once my mom caught me…
Snooping through her closet looking for my Christmas present. I found it. It was a build it yourself radio. It had tubes.

Fondest childhood memory…
I was lucky enough to grow up in the country outside in a teeny-tiny town in the beautiful state of Idaho. My entire kidhood was great.

People I’d most like to hang with?
My kids more. And the guys that invented the hula hoe, fireworks and vodka.

Met anyone famous?
Are you kidding!  I worked in rock radio in the 80’s in a major market. I’ve met everybody. Elton John was the most ... shall I say .. bizarre. But now he’s a Knight and rich. My being bizarre didn’t turn out as profitable.

People would be shocked if they knew…
Sue me, I'm shallow. I'd rather talk about a fashion mistake at the Oscars than politics any day. And I’m also seriously pondering buying a boat and moving to the Caribbean.
